Fish markets

The first buyers arrive at daybreak, around 6am. The fish is set out in boxes on the quayside according to type and size and the buyers gather in front of the produce facing the auctioneer who conducts proceedings. By closely watching gestures and smiles he manages to pick up on, guess and assess buyers' bids and ensures each sale comes to a successful close. It's as if the quayside has been transformed into the floor of the stock exchange with oilskins replacing pinstripe suits.
